Dining

Our dining room, with waitress service and linen tablecloths, can seat a comfortable 50. Whether you are a large group or dining à deux, sit down, take up your napkin and let us serve you.

Every Sunday lunchtime we serve a three joint carvery roast. This is very popular, so early booking is recommended. We love to cook with freshly prepared, locally sourced produce and seasonal ingredients – from plump trout to game, lamb and tender steaks.

Like fish and chips? We use local ales for the lightest beer batter to coat fresh cod. Our hand-cut chips are thrice-cooked (for the crispiest wedges with the fluffiest insides).

Sue takes her puddings seriously – making utterly delicious cheesecakes and tarts. We can’t take credit for the ice-cream though – we offer organic Marshfields and Brooke’s Dairy (those beautiful Jersey cows at the top of the valley). We particularly recommend Welsh Gold – and this type is very affordable!

Want some cheese to finish? Let’s get really Welsh with a board that includes: an organic blue Perl Las; a chivey Tintern (of course); creamy, tangy Harlech; a plain Welsh cheddar and a piquant grain mustard Y-Fenni.

We are happy to discuss any special dietary needs or à la carte requests to make your occasion a special experience. Do contact us for sample menus. We recommend booking in advance so you are not disappointed (particularly for groups over 12). Wheelchair users will be pleased to know that the bar, restaurant and toilets are on one level, but please book assistance if you need extra help from your car.

We are open every day except Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
